Art of Listening: Silence

What’s the point of listening to silence? And — is that even possible? Join me for an hourlong exploration of the different ways composers have used rests in their music to convey drama, humor or mystery. Drawing on examples from Monteverdi to Pärt as well as on analogies in rhetoric and the social sphere, we will open our ears to the eloquence of silence.

The class is presented by Roundtable at 92Y. More info and tickets here.
